Jawbone Up: New fitness band makes its UK debut

Move over Fitbit and Nike: finally, the Jawbone Up fitness gadget band is now ready to hit the UK – and it comes toting an Android app too. Is this going to be your new fitness buddy?
The simple-looking Jawbone Up fitness band is now available to buy in the UK from Apple, the Carphone Warehouse or Jawbone itself for £99, after an initial release in the States last year. The brand new Android app – like its iOS cousin – is free, and can be used to log daily meals, track your fitness and even show you charts of your sleep and activity patterns.

Unfortunately, the Android app is lacking a few features that the iOS version boasts – such as Twitter and Facebook sharing – but it’ll still come as welcome news for Google-rocking fitness fans, who until now have had to make do with Fitbit support on just the Samsung Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2, and absolutely no Fuelband love whatsoever.
Will this be your next fitness gadget, or are you a firm Fuelband fanatic? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
