San Francisco Teen Hangs Herself After Suffering Rape & Cyberbullying.

What is this world coming to???
15-year-old Audrie Pott was raped by three teenage boys last September after becoming intoxicated and unfortunately unconscious at a friend's party.
And while the rape is bad enough, the boys who attacked Pott took pics of the sexual abuse and then put 'em on the internet for all of the San Francisco Saratoga High School to see.
After the horrid event went down, the teenager took to her Facebookto write:
"The whole school knows…. My life is ruined."
And eight days after the rape happened, Audrie took her life by hanging herself.
Now, Pott's parents want the boys to be tried as adults — especially because according to attorney Robert Allard, they didn't learn about the cyberbullying or rape until after the 15-year-old ended her life
Allard disclosed:
"Based on what we know, she was unconscious, there were multiple boys in the room with her. They did unimaginable things to her while she was unconscious. What these boys did is beyond unconscionable. They should be held to the highest standard of the law to make sure this never ever happens again."
The boys are facing battery charges and might also be charged with child distribution of child pornography because the photos went viral.
Although Pott's family is in a lot of pain right now, they put together the Audrie Pott Foundation to provide scholarships for students who want to pursue art and music, which were two of Audrie's favorite hobbies. The family also has plans on promoting counseling for youngsters who are suffering depression, and have hopes that a law will be passed in Audrie's name to protect other teenagers.
Pott's death marks the third tragedy that has gained a lot of attention in the last few months. Rehtaeh Parsons committed suicide last week after being raped and cyberbullied, and another teen in Steubenville has been bullied via Twitter and Facebook after she was raped last summer. Luckily, the Steubenville girl is still alive.
Our hearts and prayers go out to Audrie's family.
May she rest in peace.
